FROM LEGOS TO LOGOS: The Early Years

Posted on by admin

It all started with a drawer full of pre-used lego blocks. When Foster Barker was staying with his aunt and uncle in Mocksville, NC as a young rug rat, he found a drawer full of legos from various sets that had been accumulated by his older cousins. The beauty of having a drawer full of legos from various sets is that there are no instructions to follow. You could create whatever comes to the imagination. A heliboatchopper? Sure! A policestationhoverjet? No problem! It was this passion to create that eventually led to drawing.

Once Foster was old enough to hold a pencil without the risk of putting his own eye out, he became fascinated with the sunday comics. He loved the idea of creating with the intent to tell a specific story to the world, in other words, communication art in its rawest form.

Eventually, Foster would continue to find interest in communicating to the world with his art and eventually earn his Bachelors Degree at East Carolina University with a concentration in Communication Art and Graphic Design. After an ad agency internship and long-standing graphic design career straight out of college, Foster Barker decided to take the bull by the horns and start his own company.
